  • Studio H Architects provides full-service Architectural Design, Interior Design, and Land Planning, specializing in high-end residential and commercial projects. Our approach is defined by Grit (solving complex site challenges), Passion (bold, creative vision), and Connection (integrating your lifestyle into the structure).

    Core Service Offerings:

    • Commercial Architecture: Ground up new buildings, tenant improvements, and master planning large developments.

    • Residential Architecture: Custom new builds, luxury estates, and large-scale renovations.

    • Interior Design & FF&E: Comprehensive interior architecture, furniture sourcing, and custom millwork.

    • Planning & Zoning Approvals: Expert navigation of local [City] entitlements and land-use permits.

    • 3D Visualization: High-fidelity renderings to bridge the gap between concept and reality.

  • At Studio H, we believe in radical transparency to foster Connection. Our fees are structured to reflect the actual value of our expertise and the "grit" required to manage a project from site analysis to final walkthrough.

    Fee Structures:

    • Fixed Fee: Ideal for defined scopes. Fixed fees will be lump sum amounts for commercial projects and price per square foot for residential.

    • Hourly Fee: Available for early-stage planning or add on services. Typically used when scope is not or cannot be clearly defined.

    • Combination Fee: Typical for projects that have defined scope but undefined effort. Examples include a mixed used development requiring planning and zoning approvals. Planning and Zoning approvals can be complex and ambiguous, requiring hourly fees.

  • We design for the context of the land. Our "Passion" for sustainable architecture means your home is an environmental asset, whether in the high-desert mountains of Boise, Idaho, or the arid heat of Phoenix, Arizona.

    Climate-Specific Strategies:

    • For the Boise Area (High Desert/Alpine): We focus on high-performance building envelopes to handle extreme temperature swings, snow-load engineering, and "passive solar" orientation to capture winter warmth while shading summer sun.

    • For the Phoenix Metro (Arid/Sonoran): We utilize thermal mass materials, deep overhangs for sun protection, and xeriscaping to create "cool microclimates" that reduce energy dependency in the 110°F+ summers.

  • Our process is a collaborative journey divided into five clear milestones. We bring grit to the technical challenges and passion to the creative ones to ensure a seamless connection between the design and built product.

    1. Discovery & Site Analysis: We listen first to understand your goals and site constraints.

    2. Schematic Design: Creating the initial 3D concepts, space plan, and spatial flow.

    3. Design Development: Refining materials, exterior and interior finishes, and integrating structural systems.

    4. Construction Documents: Detailed blueprints for permitting and accurate bidding.

    5. Construction Administration: We act as your advocate on-site to ensure the design is executed perfectly.

  • Timelines vary greatly by project type and complexity. Small projects are typically between 4 weeks and 8 weeks, medium projects 8 - 16 weeks, and large projects can range from 16 weeks to years.

    Timeline Breakdown:

    • Design Phase

    • Planning & Zoning Approvals

    • Permitting & Bidding

    • Construction Phase

  • Hiring an integrated firm like Studio H Architects is about more than convenience; it is a strategic decision that ensures your project values are woven into every inch of the project, from the foundation to the furniture.

When architecture and interior design are siloed, the connection between the exterior shell and the interior experience is often lost. Here is why an integrated approach is the superior choice for projects:

    1. Holistic Design "Connection"

In an integrated firm, the architect and interior designer work at the same table from Day 1. This means the window placement is dictated by where the sofa will sit, and the ceiling heights are designed to accommodate specific lighting fixtures. You avoid the "afterthought" feel that occurs when an interior designer is brought in after the walls are already up.

    2. Eliminating "The Gap" (Technical Grit)

Integrated design eliminates the "gray area" between the building’s shell and its finishes. We apply our Grit to solve technical conflicts early—ensuring that HVAC vents don't interfere with beautiful crown molding and that floor outlets are perfectly centered under your desks. This prevents costly "change orders" during construction.

    3. Budget Precision and Transparency

When one firm manages the entire aesthetic, your budget is tracked holistically. We don't just estimate the cost of the "sticks and bricks"; we account for the stone slabs, custom cabinetry, and hardware simultaneously. This provides a more accurate total investment picture from the start, preventing the "budget shock" that often happens when interiors are bid separately.

    4. Continuity of Vision (Unfiltered Passion)

Our Passion for your project remains consistent. You don't have to repeat your lifestyle goals to two different teams. The "soul" of the house—the way it feels when you walk through the front door—stays intact because the same team that imagined the roofline is the one selecting the texture of the walls.

    5. Single Point of Accountability

Construction is complex. By hiring an integrated firm, you have one point of contact. If a question arises on-site regarding how a tile transition meets a door frame, there is no finger-pointing between different companies. We take full responsibility for the "Connection" of all design elements.
